Summary/Objective

Under the supervision of the Family Resource Program Director and Supervisor, provides parenting education and supportive services to families via group, virtual, and home visitation. This position requires a bilingual candidate (Spanish and English).

Family Support Professional Resource Center

  1. Provide short-term guidance, support, and parent education to families in–home, virtual, and in-group settings.
  2. Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of community resources.
  3. Develop parent education skills and facilitate individual and/or group parenting classes.
  4. Inform, promote, and facilitate the use of the Family Resource Center within multiple childcare settings.
  5. Consult and collaborate with educators, child-care providers, neighborhood groups, and other service providers to ensure maximum resource utilization for families.
  6. Refers, advocates, and assists parents to access various community resources that support their goals.
  7. Provides prevention health-related and developmental information to families, as well as available funding resources such as Medicaid, Hawk-I, or other insurance availability, and assists in accessing if necessary.
  8. Assist as needed in childcare classrooms, which could be in multiple locations.
  9. Works collaboratively with other FSPs in developing strategies and approaches to

client-related issues.

  1. Completes all required documentation and data collection as required by the Family Resource Center program.
  2. All documentation and data collection is completed in the time frames set by the Program Director.
  3. Actively participate in bi-weekly supervision and bi-monthly staff meetings.
 
  1. Transports or provides transportation for clients as needed.
  2. Coordinates and/or participates in interdisciplinary consultation and collaboration.
  3. Attends all training required by the Family Resource Center and/or agency.
  4. Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee and client records and information.
  5. Adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics and Crittenton Center code of Ethics.
  6. Must study and pass the Family Support National Certification Exam within one year of hire.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid job which operates in both an office, other programs/agencies, and client home environment. The role requires the ability to sit and concentrate for prolonged periods of time and/or drive/travel to client homes. This role requires the ability to teach to small-medium sized groups of parents. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hybrid position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00

a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require long hours and/or evening hours onsite and/or offsite.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional overnight travel.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related degree with experience working with young

children/families preferred. May accept experience in lieu of education.

 

A Criminal Background and Abuse check, as well as an up-to-date physical, including a TB test is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

1.  A valid driver’s license and a driving record sufficient to qualify for agency automobile

coverage.
