Required Skills/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED, with some college preferred.
- Must have experience working with middle school, high school, and adults’ populations preferably in a racially, ethically, and socio-emotionally diverse urban community.
- Minimum of two years work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required.
- A genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice.
- Possess and ability to engage and lead activities in your area of specialty; strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, ability to work in a team in a variety of environments.
- Candidates possessing skills in foreign languages, visual arts, music, or performing arts are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all participants while remaining professional at all times and be able to motivate the students while setting an example in all areas, including responsibility, timeliness, organization, attendance and most importantly, professionalism.
- Flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Bilingual is a plus.

Expected Work Schedule
School Year: Availability between 2pm- 10pm; Monday- Saturday
Summer: Availability between 8am -4pm and /or 3pm -11 pm; Monday – Sunday
Required Clearances
- Department of Health Fingerprint Clearance
- State Central Registry (SCR) Clearance, ($25.00 Fee)
- Staff Exclusion List (SEL) Clearance
- Physical examination and TB test
Required Online trainings
- Mandated Reporter Certificate, 2 hours.
- Health & Safety Certificate, 5 hours.
Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Travel
Travel is primarily locally for trips and scattered sites.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. This role will also require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
