Substance Abuse Counselor

Enlightened Recovery is seeking a creative and engaging Full-time Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. This role is ideal for a passionate professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the recovery journey of adults in need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate group therapy sessions at the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) level of care and Outpatient (OP) level of care.
• Manage a small caseload, including conducting individual counseling sessions to support personalized treatment goals.
• Maintain effective communication with the Program Director and clinical team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
• Complete all documentation in accordance with state regulations and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications:

• Required: Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC, CAAC, or CAADC) recognized by the New Jersey Certification Board.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a health-related field from an accredited institution.
• Licensed professionals (LCADC, LPC, LMFT, LSW, LAC, or LCSW) are strongly encouraged to apply.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a chemical dependency setting (preferred).
• CPR certification (employer-provided if not already certified).
