Job Description:

Neat Companies is searching for a Load Traffic Controller with previous logistics and transportation experience.  This position will improve overall customer experience and operations efficiency by using a systematic approach to establish load traffic priority. Excellent communication skills required to work as an intermediary between, and provide support to the Transportation, Logistics, Shipping & Loading groups to ensure seamless communication, execution, and world class transportation results.

 

Duties:

  • Monitor orders and loads to prioritize a logical dispatch sequence, with priority to customer service, lead times and efficiency
  • Communicate with Logistics & Transportation managers, and modify delivery assignment as needed
  • Communicate with Shipping & Loading to ensure loads can be completed and scheduled within the timeframes needed
  • Communicate with customer service personnel to further refine dispatch sequence based on changing customer needs
  • Assess customer in-stock levels and provide guidance to Logistics & Transportation managers
  • Assess inventory availability, and work to allocate product to priority or aging orders
  • Monitor shortages as part of load priority assessment
  • Assist in identifying and managing backhauls, using a profitability-based approach
  • Assist transportation managers in daily dispatch activities
  • Work to balance equipment between the different operating facilities, with consideration to inbound and outbound loads
  • Other Duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Previous Transportation & Logistics experience
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Energetic, adaptable, and flexible with the ability to pick-up new skills and industry knowledge quickly
  • Good relationship and coordination skills with the ability to display tact, diplomacy, and calmness in high stress situations
  • Lead by example
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • Ability to effectively use IT packages and electronic communication methods with skills in basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues
  • Good intuition to make crucial judgement calls
  • Good financial acumen and an analytic mind with good numeracy skills
