Job Summary:
This position is accountable to partner with facility management to lead Safety functions for the Maiden Converting, Hickory Distribution Center (HDC), Blue Ridge Molding and Corporate office facilities providing technical support and direction to the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors and reports Safety metrics for leading and lagging indicators utilizing identified systems.
- Initiates and leads projects to identify and reduce risks to employees and the environment.
- Works with other functional leads to integrate Safety management systems in the other functional areas.
- Provide support and guidance to the facilities’ safety teams and special safety project related teams.
- Maintain communication with all employees and staff to ensure all are aware of safety policies, procedures, metrics, and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain records to ensure compliance with environmental regulations including storm water, waste disposal, and air emissions to include tracking compliance with OSHA.
- Conduct root cause analysis and require reporting for safety projects and any recordable injuries. Provide support to the other functional areas for root cause analysis of non-recordable injuries and near miss events.
- Provide training to meet regulatory requirements and injury prevention. Monitor and report training compliance metrics according to plan.
- Partner with other functional areas to ensure employees are trained and compliance upheld in the areas of Safety and Environmental concerns.
