Position Overview:

The POS Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting Sunset Distributing’s in-house POS operations, branding, and sign shop production. This role is primarily focused on warehouse-based POS organization and field installations, with additional support in print production. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Scope of Responsibilities:

POS Operations (Warehouse & Field)

  • Maintain the POS Cage — keep items organized, inventoried, and easy to access.
  • Break down inbound POS shipments, sort, and assign to correct pick locations.
  • Track inventory levels and communicate shortages or overages to the Marketing Department.
  • Pick and stage POS materials daily by printing VIP pick tickets, locating items in the POS Cage, palletizing, and preparing them near the dock for warehouse loading.
  • Arrange POS pick-up appointments with supplier reps and sales team.
  • Pull and stage POS transfers for delivery to the San Marcos warehouse.
  • Assist with POS setup for monthly catalogs to help reps effectively use materials during programs and events.
  • Help build basic shelving or organizational tools for POS storage.
  • Bale and dispose of excess cardboard and packaging materials daily.
  • Install POS at retail locations as needed (posters, banners, decals, etc.).

Sign Shop Support (Internal)

  • Assist with trimming, labeling, grommeting, and prepping printed signage (posters, banners, decals, etc.).
  • Support basic print production tasks (e.g., rolling, laminating) as directed.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the print production area.

Additional Expectations:

  • Will work cross-functionally with brand managers, suppliers, and warehouse team as needed.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Occasional off-site POS installs may require driving to retail accounts.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Familiar with warehouse organization or signage handling is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools and performing light physical tasks (e.g. lifting, installing signage).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred. Familiar with ONYX Poster Shop is a plus. Strong understanding of file types, naming conventions, and format conversions (e.g., raster to vector, bitmap to GIF, TIF, PNG, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
