This is a part-time position, looking for a nurse to work every other weekend (Sat/Sun) 7:45am-7:45pm.

Pay Scale:

LPN: $23-$27/hr.
RN: $26-$30/hr.

Summary:

The Caiyalynn Burrell Child Crisis Center, located in Asheville, provides short-term (5-7 day) treatment and stabilization services in a safe, child-friendly setting for youth in crisis across Western North Carolina. Our nurses and med techs are a vital part of our treatment team providing critical support to children ages 6 through 17. Provides nursing services to the medical unit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides medication evaluation, medication checks, calls in prescriptions, obtains samples, sometimes may provide individual, group and family therapy and subsequent paperwork.
  • Completes shift notes on each client on the unit.
  • May supervise med techs.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities
  • Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Special Attributes: Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

Education and/or Experience:
RN: 
Graduation from a four-year state accredited school of nursing and one year of experience in psychiatric nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LPN: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and prefer one year of experience in nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
