SUMMARY:
Responsible for teaching graduate nursing students in live class, hybrid, online and clinical environments, advising nursing students, serving on School of Nursing (SON) and university committees while maintaining current practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Responsibilities:
Teaching
- Teach 33 load contact hours over fall, spring, and summer semesters.
- Evaluate student performance.
Advising
- Meet with advisees as defined in the policy and procedure.
- Upon approval, grant advisees’ registration clearance
Service
- Serve on SON and university committees.
- Provide service to the community.
Scholarship
- The SON defines scholarship as keeping current with nursing practice, original research, and other scholarly activities such as publications, presentations, and participation in professional nursing organizations.
Maintain Current Practice
- Maintain current clinical practice as a certified Psychiatric Mental Health nurse practitioner.
- Willingness to precept students in clinical practice.
- Maintain knowledge of current practice, curriculum development, accreditation requirements, and certification for the program/track in which they teach.
- Maintain CPR/BLS certification.
- Various duties as assigned.
