Summary
In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Laboratory Technician maintains a productive research environment and is responsible for the maintenance of equipment, ordering supplies and conducting experiments to support the research efforts of the faculty. Administratively, the Technician serves as the IACUC administrator and the Animal Research Facility personnel.Â
Research Support & Data Analysis

Conducts experimental studies and analyzes data under the direction of research faculty (Principal Investigators).

Assists in research projects by maintaining accurate records and ensuring data integrity.
Animal Research & Compliance

Serves as the IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) administrator.

Oversees the operations within the Animal Research Facility, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory guidelines.

Facilitates proper collection and disposal of chemical and animal waste following university and accrediting body regulations
Laboratory Operations & Inventory Management

Orders laboratory supplies in a timely manner and maintains an updated inventory of equipment and materials.

Reconciles credit card purchases for lab-related expenses.

Ensures proper maintenance, repair, and servicing of laboratory equipment.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance

Enforces proper laboratory safety procedures for faculty and students.

Serves as a liaison between the School of Pharmacy and the University Risk Manager regarding the School’s Chemical Hygiene Plan.
