Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling - School of Education and Behavioral Studies (WPB)

SUMMARY

Palm Beach Atlantic University seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program at our West Palm Beach campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching evening and online courses in the Master of Science in Counselor Education program and will contribute to the mission of the department by supporting academic excellence, professional preparation, and spiritual formation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Teaching

• Teach graduate-level counseling courses in evening and online formats based on program needs and faculty expertise.
• Evaluate student performance

Advising

• Keep office hours.
• Mentor and advise students in their academic, professional, and spiritual development.

Service

• Participate in departmental governance, curriculum development, and accreditation activities.
• Serve on SEBS and university committees.
   

Scholarship

• Engage in scholarly activity and maintain an active research agenda.

Education:

• Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program (required).
• Licensed or license eligible as a professional counselor or related credential (required).

Experience:

• Experience with online and hybrid course delivery.
• Knowledge of CACREP standards and accreditation processes.
• Two years prior teaching experience in higher education and a record of scholarly activity (preferred).
• Strong analytical and communication skills are an essential element of the position.
