Assistant / Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Hea

SUMMARY

In support of the university’s mission and objectives, The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Health Sciences provides didactic and/or clinical instruction to Doctoral Pharmacy and Physician Associate students. This is a shared position between pharmacy and PA Medicine but for administrative purposes is under the School of Pharmacy. 

In addition to academic responsibilities, this faculty member is expected to assist in the professional and spiritual growth of pharmacy and PA students.  Part of the academic responsibility is to engage in research and scholarly activity, to participate as an active member of assigned school or university committees, and to serve as faculty advisor to a group of pharmacy students, all in accordance with expectations assigned by the chair and approved by the deans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction within assigned pharmacy and PA courses
  • Responsible for PA course management and assessment.
  • Required to participate in PA Medicine self-study processes as it relates to Pharmacy courses
  • Serves on task forces and committees as assigned.
  • Attends faculty meetings, faculty development programs and other school functions as assigned.
  • Adept at organizing complex scientific and professional subject matter and designing instructional strategies that make the material understandable and applicable.
  • Serves as an advisor to PharmD students as assigned.
  • Serves as a role model of professional, servant leader behavior to students.
  • Assists with faculty recruitment and student applicant interviews.
  • Conducts research and/or scholarly activity associated with areas of his/her expertise that is either published or presented following peer review.
  • Participates actively in professional organizations associated with his/her discipline.
  • Participates in other duties as assigned in service to the school or university.
  • Represents the school at various functions

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Doctorate degree required, or equivalent experience, PharmD, required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience
