POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for facilitating Small Business Administration (SBA) and other Government Guaranteed Lending activities, as well as managing the SBA loan portfolio in collaboration with commercial lenders. This role requires ongoing education and adherence to SBA Standard Operating Procedures while promoting a customer-centric, service-oriented culture.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SBA loan inquiries from internal employees and external customers.

  • Act as a liaison between the Bank’s lending teams, branch network, and commercial loan operations regarding SBA and other Government Guaranteed Lending programs.

  • Assist in managing the SBA loan portfolio to ensure compliance and maintain credit quality.

  • Drive the SBA 7(a) loan application and underwriting processes across Commercial Lending platforms.

  • Lead SBA outreach and training initiatives across the Bank to enhance understanding and utilization of SBA loan programs.

  • Represent the Bank at SBA and community events to strengthen community outreach and promote lending opportunities.

  • Provide financial guidance to customers, identifying appropriate banking products and services. Recommend external financial solutions when necessary.

  • Facilitate virtual and in-person SBA loan closings as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in business, finance or related preferred.
  • Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures and experience with SBA lending and regulations preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in banking or financial services.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
  • Basic knowledge of all applicable regulations that pertain to this position.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across 1SB’s Lending Divisions.
  • Capable of structuring credit proposals that effectively mitigate risk in alignment with prudent lending practices.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be skilled in Microsoft Office Products, with the ability to learn banking software.
