Under the direction and oversight of the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and reliable daily operation of the paratransit division in accordance with Medtrans Inc. policies, procedures and applicable federal, state, local regulatory laws and maintaining the Company Safe Driver Program

Qualifications

Operations Manager Qualifications:

  • 2+ year of operator experience
  • 1+ years of progressive supervisory experience required in a NEMT environment preferred.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license and excellent driving record to meet insurance standards.
  • Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) permit requirement.
  • Exceptional record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated excellence in customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Proficient use of computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated team leadership and development skills.
  • Ability to cooperate and develop good working relationships with others.
  • Maintain the utmost discretion and integrity, especially pertaining to confidential matters.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Operations Manager Essential Duties:

  • Provides supervision and oversight per Medtrans, Inc policies, rules, applicable regulations, statutes, laws, orders, and ordinances.
  • Supervise and train employees, directing work, coaching, counseling, administering disciplinary actions, and resolving complaints and issues.
  • Serve as a member of the operations supervisory team, actively participating in frequent communication and coordination with other Medtrans, Inc. departments.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of procedures and practices, as necessary.
  • Keeping up to date with policies and procedures with the ability to communicate these updates to employees and customers.
  • Supervises and coordinates wheelchair and paratransit vans' field activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and on-time service delivery.
  • Performs safety and security physical inspections to all company vehicles and stations.
  • Conduct incident and accident investigations.
  • Ensures drivers complete daily vehicle check forms.
  • Performs quality assurance ride with drivers to ensure efficiency and policy compliance.
  • Uses radio, phone, and computerized technologies to monitor and report field activities to other managers.
  • Assists in developing and presenting methods to improve service quality, reliability, and on-time performance.
  • Promote safe operations and practices by interacting with drivers and other personnel regarding observations using proactive and reactive corrective measurements.
  • Maintain route and street familiarity to develop reroutes and detours, incorporating schedule guides and maps.
  • Works in conjunction with dispatchers using audio and visual equipment (e.g., 2-way radios, phones, MDT, CAD, Samsara, etc.)
  • Required to operate a vehicle when required or requested.
  • Interacts with customers, clearly communicates information on service, delays, and detours, and de-escalates situations as needed.
  • Completes, collects, and submits reports as required daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Enforces all work rules and corrective action when necessary.
  • Substitutes for dispatchers and drivers when needed.
  • Investigates and creates written reports and draws diagrams of accidents.
  • May be subject to working additional hours or other work assignments as circumstances warrant.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Interview Paratransit applicants.
  • Conduct classroom training for new employees and schedule trainees with Field Training Officers.
  • Collect and Review Field Training reports submitted by Field Training Officers
  • Assist in coordinating vehicle maintenance appointments while ensuring vehicle issues are addressed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
