Position Overview:
This key Food & Beverage position is responsible for the preparation of all food served in both The Bistro and at catering functions. Line cooks are responsible for maintaining a safe, sanitary and productive kitchen in order to ensure food is prepared accurately and served in a timely fashion. This role is also responsible for assisting with inventory by communicating inventory levels to the leadership team and accepting and organizing food deliveries.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality and presentation standards
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other equipment
- Prepare food according to Banquet Event Orders, ensuring food presentation meets banquet standards
- Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
- Set-up and break down work station and ensure cleanliness meets departmental standards
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
- Ensure all aspects of the kitchen are up to health code and brand standards
- Clearly communicate allergen information and dietary accommodations to front of house team members
- Provide assistance in Food and Beverage areas including busing, cleaning and resetting tables, delivering food to guests and general cleaning of food and beverage prep areas
