POSITION SUMMARY
Co-lead the Arts Unlimited division of Chadwick Summer Programs, overseeing all visual, performing, and innovative arts programming for students in Grades 4-8. The Co-Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and defining the artistic vision of the program, ensuring a safe, enriching, and high-quality experience for all campers and staff.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Strategic Leadership and Program Planning:
- Provide strategic direction for class offerings and the future growth of Arts Unlimited programming.
- Review and approve the accuracy of all course descriptions, schedules, and program information published online in consultation with the Auxiliary Director.
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for program budget expenditures, ensuring the program operates within defined financial parameters.
- Staff Management and Evaluation:

- Assist with the recruitment and interviewing of qualified staff.
- Lead the entire division staff during Orientation Day.
- Supervise and formally evaluate all staff and counselors during the summer program, ensuring high-quality instruction and a positive learning environment.
- In consultation with the co-director, ensure hourly staff have recorded their time worked correctly.
- Parent/Caregiver Communication:

- Maintain proactive and professional communication with parents/caregivers (pre-session and during the program) regarding program logistics, student progress, and addressing concerns, including enforcing expectations for camper behavior and safety.
- Schedule and Time Commitment:

- Attend mandatory monthly planning meetings leading up to the summer session (mix of in-person and zoom meetings). Maintain consistent and regular communication with the Director throughout the year.
- Expected to be physically on campus, directing the division, daily from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM for the entire duration of the Chadwick Summer Programs session.
PLEASE NOTE:
• Training Day (paid) is 8:30am-3pm, Saturday, June 20
• Program Dates: June 22 - July 24 with July 3rd 0ff for Independence Day
• Onboarding is required and can be by appointment
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to the Director of Auxiliary and Innovative Programs
- Must maintain safe work practices and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Must enjoy working with children grades 4-8.
- Must attend a mandatory staff training day on Saturday, June 20th from 8:30am – 3:00pm
- Must sign up for and attend a staff “onboarding” session during the week before the summer program begins (approx. 2 hours)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
