SUMMARY
|
|
The Traveling Software Engineer I is an entry-level role responsible for helping design, develop, test, and support TGW software solutions. Working closely with experienced developers and subject matter experts (SMEs), this role contributes to successful implementations that meet customer expectations.
|
|
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|

Collaborate with developers and SMEs to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Write code in C# and Java to meet both functional and technical requirements.

Perform unit and integration testing.

Participate in functional testing using emulation models.

Support software commissioning onsite as needed.

Provide startup and post-implementation support, including participation in an on-call rotation for 24/7 technical support.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
|
|
Education:
|
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.Â
|
|
Experience:
|
Some internship or hands-on work experience programming in an object-oriented environment.
|
|
Travel:
|
Up to 40% domestic and international travel.
|
|
Skills & Abilities
|

Familiarity with integrated development environments (IDEs) like Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse, or NetBeans.

Understanding of object-oriented design principles.

Exposure to source control tools, agile methodologies, and relational database programming is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.

Other Requirements
This position may require work at TGW customer sites. TGW’s customers may require background checks before accessing their sites. Refusal to participate in a customer-required background check may result in a customer barring access and a subsequent reduction in work.
