SUMMARY

The Robotics Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of robotic systems within TGW’s automated warehouse solutions and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of robotic technologies.  This role will provide technical support and expert knowledge for TGW’s onsite teams and robotics activities across North America.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs regular maintenance and inspections of robotic systems to ensure optimal performance in partnership with onsite teams
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to robotic systems, promptly delivering remote and onsite support when required.
  • Supports onsite teams with go-live of TGW Robotics
  • Conducts continuous improvement activities to minimize downtime and extend lifespan of robotic equipment.
  • Collaborates with engineering, software, and project management teams to address maintenance needs and improvements for robotics systems.
  • Provides technical support and training to internal teams and customers on the full scope of TGW robotics equipment.
  • Supports root cause analyses and create reports on system performance and issues.
  • Creates, improves and revises standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation related to robotics equipment.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of latest advancements in robotics and automation technologies to enhance maintenance practices.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA 30 and safety regulations during maintenance activities.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Five plus (5+) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.

Travel:

Up to 90% of travel as required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling robotics equipment.  
  • Familiarity with HMI and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface).
  • Profibus and Profinet experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc). 
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting knowledge preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols
  • Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.

Other Requirements

This position requires work at TGW customer sites.  TGW’s customers may require background checks before accessing their sites.  Refusal to participate in a customer-required background check may result in a customer barring access and a subsequent reduction in work.
