SUMMARY |
The Software Solutions Architect is senior-level role responsible for delivery of the software solution provided by TGW. This role leads the software design for realization and ensures quality deliverables in all aspects of software implementation including design, development, testing, commissioning, and system start-up. This position also supports pre-order concept work and project estimation. |
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Validates and adjusts the software requirements defined during the sales phase and leads the transition of the software implementation from the sales phase to the realization phase.
- Leads the software design process including chairing of meetings, development of the Functional Specification Document, and development of the interface design documents.
- Determines time estimates and staffing requirements for software delivery.
- Leads the transition of software design to all software work streams including development, infrastructure, testing, and commissioning.
- Interacts directly with the customer stakeholders for complex software issues or project escalations. Collaborates with software managers on complex project issues, project decisions, and staffing.
- Supports project management in obtaining customer acceptance of the software.
- Collaborates with TGW product development organization to drive complex project issue resolution and provide input for software product roadmap.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS |
Education: |
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. |
Experience: |
Several years of experience delivering software solutions in a material handling environment. |
Travel: |
Up to 30% domestic and international travel. |
Skills & Abilities |
- Demonstrated ability to lead a software design work stream and develop detailed software specifications and interface documents.
- Previous experience estimating project effort and delivery timeframes.
- Leadership skills to manage and motivate software implementation teams.
- Experience in software quality assurance and testing solutions.
- Thorough understanding of software agile methods and practices.
- Proficiency in objective-oriented design and principes.
- Knowledge of relational database application integration (Oracle experience preferred).
- Web Services or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, internal and external.
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.

Other Requirements
