SUMMARY |
The Database Administrator will contribute to a team effort in all aspects of database engineering including design, development, testing, deployment, analysis, and support. The role will be responsible for administration, performance tuning, optimization, and disaster recovery. In addition, support the teams with deploying new projects and troubleshooting existing TGW customer implementations. |
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Consult with solution architects on the design and implementation of database schemas and structures to meet functional and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with developers and functional SMEs to deliver high-quality and successful implementations that meet the business goals of the customer.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement additional functionality to optimize database performance.
- Lead database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization efforts.
- Develop and manage disaster recovery plans with infrastructure teams.
- Provide start-up and post go-live support for databases and operating systems.
- Contribute to the on-call coverage for global database and infrastructure support teams.
- Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS |
Education: |
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related, or equivalent worked experience. |
Experience: |
Two (2) to five (5) years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, or related experience. |
Travel: |
Up to 20% travel, occasionally on short notice, including international travel. |
Skills & Abilities |
- Demonstrated experience with database systems (e.g., Oracle, Mongo).
- Understanding of database design principles and normalization.
- Experience with Linux OS.
- Experience with infrastructure as code principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Oracle database certifications.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Familiarity with source control (e.g. GIT).
- Familiarity with Azure pipelines (YAML).
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of Agile methods and practices.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
