Shop Supervisor

We are looking for a skilled, experienced, and hands-on Shop Supervisor to lead and support our team of mechanics in the maintenance and repair of diesel and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) trucks. This position requires a working supervisor who is capable of performing mechanical tasks alongside the team while overseeing day-to-day shop operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Mechanical Work:
  Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel and CNG trucks as needed, setting the standard for quality and efficiency.
• Team Leadership:
  Supervise and work alongside a team of mechanics, providing guidance, training, and technical support to ensure jobs are completed correctly and on time.
• Workflow Coordination:
  Assign tasks based on job priority and technician skill level. Monitor progress and adjust workloads to meet deadlines and operational demands.
• Quality Assurance:
  Inspect completed work for accuracy, completeness, and safety compliance. Address issues proactively and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
• Safety Oversight:
  Promote and enforce shop safety policies and procedures. Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communication:
  Serve as a liaison between mechanics and management. Provide job updates, report issues, and ensure clear communication across all levels.
• Inventory & Tool Management:
  Ensure technicians have the parts and tools needed for assigned jobs. Coordinate with parts staff to minimize delays due to shortages.

Compensation:

Annual Salary of $70k

Schedule:
Monday – Friday (some Saturday may b required)

Day Shift: 5am-3:30pm

Night Shift: 4pm-2:00am

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel or CNG technician, with supervisory or lead tech experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine and CNG system diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and service tools
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• ASE certifications or equivalent are a plus
• CDL preferred but not required

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with both heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks
• Familiarity with DOT compliance and inspection standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
