POSITION OVERVIEW:
Title: Maintenance Technician 2
Reports To: Facilities and Maintenance Director
Wage Range: $25-$33 Per Hour
Schedule: M-F; 9 am-6 pm
Status: Nonexempt
Summary: Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, facilities, and systems, with a particular focus on HVAC systems and vehicle maintenance. This role ensures the organization’s infrastructure operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES: (Will include but not be limited to)
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and intermediate repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Inspect and service HVAC units (air handlers, chillers, thermostats), including performing filter changes, ductwork repairs, and refrigerant checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Read blueprints and equipment manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Replace faulty components and respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Support general facility upkeep, including painting, landscaping, and basic carpentry.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Assist in developing maintenance schedules and logs to support operational standards.
- Enforce safety and compliance protocols, adhering to OSHA and other safety regulations while identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Contribute to team operations by training junior staff and supporting facilities management goals.
- Remain flexible to address urgent maintenance needs, including after-hours or weekend work.
