About the Role
The Educational Programs Assistant will work closely with WHYY’s education team to lead WHYY’s early education programs, continue to build upon existing relationships with community partners and assist with WHYY early childhood events.
Â
This role will assist in creating both new and existing programs for children and their families/caregivers. The Educational Programs Specialist should have a passion and enthusiasm for early literacy and promoting family learning through community partnerships and engagement. This person will have experience with community outreach, event management and early education, specifically ages 0-8.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee early education programs including Little Libraries, Storytimes, Family Math, Media Labs Jr., Family Community Learning Workshops, and other programs for early learners, their families, and their communities.

Assist with upload of curriculum and content to PBS Learning Media

Assist with the development of lesson plans and curricula for WHYY kids shows

Event management including Be My Neighbor Day, community engagements and the WHYY-Billy Penn Regional Spelling Bee.

Onsite management of Little Libraries including community partnerships, maintenance and future programming.

Manage and develop community partnerships for current and future programming.
