Operator- Malt Ball Centers (3rd shift)

ROLE SUMMARY

The operator will cook, mix and blend solutions that need to be added to the blender. Will control the hot blender to produce quality blends according to customer requirements. The process will entail daily set up, mixing kettles, hot blending, maintain 5s, clean and organize work area, changeovers (SSOP), HACCP forms, consumption(s) of material. Additionally, the operator will control the batch roller and dicer to produce quality product according to customer requirements, while performing basic quality checks and adherence to Redzone Productivity (OEE) and Compliance (documentation) modules.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect and prep entire malt ball equipment prior to start-up.

• Will operate the MBC cook, continuous candy cook and including packing of the line.
• Will clean the blender, sizer, roper, sifting table, incline conveyor, Kettles after every item ran and/or allergens.
• Will ensure MBC cook follows procedures and mixing formulas.
• Fill out machine time, production report; collect labor reports and material worksheets from every workstation in the malt ball line.
• Record all materials used in the production batch order. All materials will be documented by weight. All dispositions, mix-ins, malt ball scrap, cinnamon crumb chunk, by exact weight and quantities.
• Will verify scrap in containers and fill out animal feed scrap report according to scrap reporting procedures.
• Report all raw material and or ingredient scrap, corn syrup spill on the floor, broken bag of sugar on floor, etc.
• Report blender scrap, sifter scrap to operator according to scrap reporting procedures.
• Report to the operator any equipment, quality, formula, and shortage of material problems as they occur.
• Keep area clean and organized at all times.
• Follow all procedures related to job responsibilities.

• General production duties
• Boxing produced orders and preparing them for shipping.
• Employee adherence to Redzone Productivity (OEE) and Compliance (documentation) modules

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

• Standing on a concrete floor.
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
• Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Required to work weekends during peak season.

Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Have a high school diploma, GED and/or equivalent education.
• Associate shall at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• Basic math skills, communication skills, computer skills, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate in English and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have mechanical skills to troubleshoot and or make adjustments as necessary to ensure a quality product.
• The ability to stand on a concrete floor for long period. Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended period, reaching and lifting up to 53 lbs.
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
• Associate must work well under pressure; meet multiple and sometimes completing deadlines.
• Work area is to be kept clean at all times.
• Good attendance is a condition of employment.
