Summary
The Delivery Manager oversees and manages the entire delivery operations for Elite Brands of Colorado including route planning, staffing and equipment maintenance. The employee is expected to participate in an atmosphere that promotes trust, creativity, open and honest feedback, accountability, and personal development. The job is fast paced and will require excellent communication, time and task management skills. Success in this role will require open and honest feedback to all members of the team at all times.
Essential Duties
Vehicle Maintenance and Planning
- Maintenance of all company vehicles including monthly vehicle checks.
- Anticipation and planning of vehicle usage and needs.
- Recording maintenance in a log to track costs and services performed.
Driver Management
- Review and approve delivery department payroll.
- Plan for driver needs (hiring/training/evaluating/termination) .
- Conduct training, coaching, and feedback sessions, complete performance assessments, and recommendations for pay increases.
- Oversee maintenance of driver qualification file.
- Lead and plan quarterly driver meetings.
- Team building and development.
- Evaluation of drivers- Quarterly, Annual performance reviews/daily interaction and supervision.
- Plan staffing on a daily basis for individual routes.
Route Planning
- Route orders in an efficient manner that balances loads and limits hours and miles driven.
- Evaluate routes on a quarterly basis to see if changes are in order.
- Manage off-day deliveries to make sure they are doable and then entered onto the correct route sheet.
- Set new customers up on the appropriate route.
- Maintain routing tables in software.
- Check drivers in at the end of the day.
- Record issues so they can be tracked.
- Coach drivers on mistakes.
- Report issues to the appropriate personnel and suggest resolutions when applicable.
- Day to day delivery efficiencies.
- Manage all day to day deliveries as they happen.
- Work closely with customer base to ensure quality delivery.
- DOT compliance and telematics management.
- Stay up on Federal regulations and communicate changes to the team for compliance.
- Maintain DVIR and log books (when applicable).
- Maintain training materials for staff and keep them up to date.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including deliveries as needed or driving vehicles to the shop.
Salary starts at $55,000 plus pay for performance after 6 months.
Work schedule is Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.
