Summary:
Vighter is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine Physicians to join our healthcare team at the VA Medical Center and surrounding Community Based Outpatient Clinics in and around Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, emphasizing preventive care, health maintenance, and the management of acute and chronic conditions. The standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding all currently recognized national standards.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Provide primary care to individuals and families across all age groups.
- Conduct routine physical exams, well-child visits, immunizations, and health screenings.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide patient education.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging.
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using [EMR system].
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Promote a culture of quality and patient safety.
- Identify opportunities to improve client care, quality, and effectiveness, and implement changes in collaboration with franchise owner.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision
- Excellent organizational, scheduling and prioritization skills.
Education:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Physician shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contract physician(s) who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
- All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date.
Qualifications:
- BLS and CPRS are mandatory certifications.
- Contractor must provide a copy of their DEA certificate.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and executive skill sets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and changing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Adept at learning and navigating Electronic Health Record systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
- The expected duty hours for this position are 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. However, this key position supporting 24/7/365 operations which will require rotating work schedules to be conducted in the day, at night, on weekends, and during holidays.

Travel:
- As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commute is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for more than 8 hours per day, must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
- Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
- Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
- Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.

- Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
