This is a pivotal role for a forward-thinking professional who excels at building systems, solving complex problems, and elevating site-wide HSE performance. The HSE Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving the processes, systems, tools, and methods that ensure Wing Inflatables meets all regulatory and policy requirements. As the on-site owner of the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) program, this role converts corporate HSE strategy into effective, facility-specific programs, cultural initiatives, risk controls, and compliance activities.
The HSE Coordinator also serves as the primary on-site advisor to the General Manager on regulatory matters, safety strategy, and HSE risk. This position exercises a high degree of independent judgment in evaluating risks, designing controls, developing procedures, setting priorities for corrective action, and determining how regulatory and ISO requirements apply within the facility.

Role Focus: HSE systems, compliance, operational support, and cross-functional collaboration. The HSE Coordinator supports all departments with questions and issues related to HSE compliance and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
I. Integrated Management System (IMS) & Operational Excellence
-
Support daily operation of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS).

Work with Senior Leadership to define strategy and implement IMS tools, including the Document Library, Incident Reports, CAPA programs, and Internal Audits.

Schedule and conduct internal audits of HSE systems; drive corrective action and continuous improvement.

Lead or participate in HSE improvement initiatives by analyzing complex problems and translating them into manageable process improvement projects.

Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to understand HSE challenges and identify opportunities for streamlined, efficient processes.

Conduct requirements gathering, workflow analysis, and business process assessments to drive meaningful process change.

Design and implement end-to-end process improvements, including policies, KPIs, data reporting, and governance controls.

Report key HSE metrics, risks, gaps, and resource needs to Senior Leadership to maintain compliant and effective systems.
II. Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Compliance Ownership

Own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site HSE programs.

Build and sustain a positive HSE culture that encourages engagement and continuous improvement.

Interpret corporate HSE standards and tailor them to local equipment, materials, hazards, and operations.
-
Advise the General Manager and Leadership Team on safety strategy, compliance risks, and resource requirements.

Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning and closure.
-
Conduct risk assessments for routine and non-routine tasks; recommend and oversee implementation of effective controls.
-
Represent the facility during regulatory inspections, environmental audits, ISO audits, and customer compliance reviews.

Develop site-specific HSE metrics and management reports for leadership review.
Training Oversight
-
Develop training plans, learning content, toolbox meeting topics, and regular safety messaging.
-
Train and coach Safety Committee members, Supervisors, and Leads on safety expectations, communication, and enforcement.

Coordinate LMS training assignments and monitor completion.
-
Deliver specialized training such as incident learning reviews or leadership safety training.
Environmental & Hazardous Materials Programs

Own and maintain the Hazardous Materials & Waste Management Program.

Ensure compliance in handling, labeling, storage, documentation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
-
Maintain the Respiratory Protection Program and conduct fit testing as needed.

Ensure implementation of the Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan per IMS requirements.
