An Average Day:Â
(Includes, but not limited to)
- Review admission and recertification documentation to assign accurate ICD-10 codes
- Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines and coding best practices
- Collaborate with branch staff and medical billing teams to resolve coding holds and rejected claims
- Support timely submission of the Notice of Election (NOE)
- Train and support team members in proper medical coding protocols
- Maintain open communication across departments and respond promptly to inquiries
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:Â
Â

- Minimum of 2 years of Medicare/Medicaid coding experience (hospice preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Coding certification from AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of ICD-10 and CMS coding guidelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to assess medical documentation and identify appropriate codes
- Comfortable using laptops, EMR systems, and general office equipment
