Wages: $120,000 + Depending on Experience 

Description:

  • Manage and supervise all aspects of Surgical Services Department from operational and fiscal perspectives
  • Organize, control, and implement Department activity, and coordinate such activity with that of other Hospital Departments
  • Ensure optimal provision and patient care by Department Staff
  • Appropriately and consistently prioritize, organize, coordinate, and evaluate Department tasks and workload
  • Perform and manage patient care duties within scope of practice as needed, in conformance with recognized standards, techniques and procedures
  • Manage, guide, and assist staff to carry out responsibilities of their positions
  • Maintain availability to respond as is needed at times when issue escalation becomes indicated
  • Review incident reports related to surgical or anesthetic services provision, and triage reports appropriate for secondary review
  • Periodically assess patient educations offered during Department service provision, consider approaches to improve such education, and oversee implementation of such approaches
  • Prepare work schedules for Department positions
  • Carry out responsibilities of supervised staff as need arises
  • Hire, educate, and, with Surgical Services Director approval, terminate staff, and assist with staff orientation
  • Coordinate indicated staff education and training
  • Design and manage Department policy and procedure
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with Department policy ad procedure, including documentation standards 
  • Oversee use, operation, maintenance, and inventory of Department equipment and supplies
  • Schedule and lead Department meetings
  • Perform other duties assigned by Director

Qualifications

Education and Background

  • 3-5 years of experience in acute hospital OR setting
  • CNOR Certification Required
  • BSN preferred
  • Obtain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support within six months of hire and subsequently main such certification

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles that relate to this position
  • Possession of a degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Possession of current Oregon licensure
  • Possession of current applicable certification and registration
  • Possession of United States proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
  • Possession of a driver license or analogous identification
