Job Summary
While possessing a superior understanding of maintenance and repair principles, the technician will work independently or with helper to perform a variety of skilled duties in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, metalwork, HVAC, electrical, electronics, control and instrumentation.
Essential Functions
Uses hand tools, instruments, and basic shop tools to support essential functions.
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facilities equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
While using documents, drawings and reference materials, troubleshoots and corrects equipment problems. Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, sensors, and communication pathways to promptly return equipment to operational status.
Complies with established safety, health, environmental policies. Adheres to company policies, guidelines and procedures.
Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
Documents work performed including preventative and corrective maintenance issues.
Mentors and guides junior technicians to develop maintenance skills.
Reports to a manager and works under the direction of lead personnel. Will also work under the general direction of functional area manager.
