**Position Summary:**
The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for the oversight and coordination of nursing staff and patient care activities during assigned shifts. This role includes ensuring high-quality patient care delivery, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Leadership and Supervision:**
- Supervise and support nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for nursing personnel, fostering professional development.
2. **Patient Care Management:**
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

3. **Communication:**
- Facilitate effective communication among staff, patients, and families regarding patient care and clinical issues.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Nurse Manager regarding unit operations and staffing concerns.
4. **Quality and Safety:**
- Monitor compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
5. **Crisis Management:**
- Lead the team in emergencies and critical situations, ensuring effective response and resource allocation.
- Address conflicts and issues among staff or with patients and families, fostering a collaborative work environment.
6. **Documentation and Reporting:**
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and nursing interventions.
- Prepare and maintain reports for audit purposes and compliance with quality standards.
