- Provide nursing care consistent with licensing standards to patients admitted to the Central Receiving Facility (CRF) under the Baker (mental health) or Marchman (substance use) Act.
- Assess patient for medical and behavioral health needs.
- Understand and execute admission, treatment, seclusion and restraint, and discharge orders.
- Provide medical care in response to physician orders and treatment plan.
- Checks, records, or arranges the completion of vital signs, as appropriate. Follows-up with individual served when vital signs are outside normal parameters.
- Provide medical and/or behavioral health education and information to individuals served.
- Maintain comprehensive records in the electronic medical record (EMR). This includes nursing assessment, unplanned interventions, and informational and progress notes.
- Participate in development of the treatment plans, in treatment team discussions, and screenings.
- Directs and monitors co-workers; including LPN, Behavioral Health Technicians, Patient Safety Technicians, etc.
- Performs audits and provides feedback to leadership regarding quality improvements, cost saving initiatives, and efficiencies.
- Attends monthly nursing in-service meetings.
- Maintains current knowledge of policies, procedures, and protocols at the CRF.
