Join our Human Resources team as a Sr. Human Resources Specialist in La Crosse, WI!

 

Wages are expected to exceed the range shown, and will ultimately be determined based on experience and education

 

BASIC PURPOSE: Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Specialist supports a wide range of transactional staff needs from pre-hire to orientation to benefits to termination. The Senior Human Resources Specialist is also a support for the HR Director and the Leadership Team on policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate administrative processing for new hires and departures. This includes background checking, distributing confirmation letters, coordinating on boarding services between new hires and existing employees, conducting exit interviews and completing termination activities.
  1. Support time card and payroll processing, including resolving issues as needed.
  1. Maintain HR files for internal use and licensing purposes.
  1. Conduct Agency orientation Day 1 by providing guidance on the agency’s policies and procedures.
  1. Provide assistance to employees with benefits needs.  Act as a liaison between employees and the agency’s employee benefits and providers.
  1.  Assist HR team in planning and facilitating agency social events.

 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ENVIRONMENT

Education, Training & Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, management or related field; administrative experience 5 to 7 years.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Familiarity with human resources laws and regulations; strong computer application skills related to data organization and analysis.

Equipment & Applications: General office equipment such as computer and desktop applications; printers/scanners/fax machines.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: General office environment with minimal lifting and travel.
