Description

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing state licensing for Retail Loan Officers, Consumer Direct Loan Officers, Licensed Production Assistants, Branches and the company adhering to regulatory and corporate requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide support to Administration Team
  • Preliminary review of Partner Candidates coordinated through Growth Managers to ensure the Partner Candidate and Growth Manager comprehend all requirements for licensing. 
  • Licensing coordination and management for Consumer Direct Retail Loan Officers
  • Licensing coordination and management for Retail Loan Officers Licensing coordination for Loan Production Assistants as needed
  • State license checklist completion with and for Partners
  • Coordinating state background checks required via NMLS state checklists
  • Licensing coordination for Branches as needed
  • Licensing coordination for the Company as needed
  • Branch Compliance Checklist tracking as needed
  • Assistance with bond coordination in states where required (MI, CO, etc.)
  • Assistance with NMLS Call Reports as needed by Compliance
  • Validating all Loan Officer, Production Assistant, Operations and Branches post the appropriate licenses
  • Communication and Tracking for all licensing activity
  • Daily review of all Partners in request status (retail and Consumer Direct)
  • Daily report updates for all licensing activity and tracking to the Vice President of Business Administration
  • Responsible for Continuing Education Tracking
  • Responsible for Renewal Tracking
  • Responsible for issuing individual and branch license approvals and updating Encompass.
  • Responsible for ensuring all costs associated with licensing are provided to Accounting.
  • Spot Record Checks

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 2+ years of NMLS Licensing experience .

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Working knowledge of the mortgage loan flow process
  • Working knowledge of the NMLS, State Licensing Requirements and Secretary of State Requirements
  • Strong relationship building and team building skills, along with the ability to problem-solve
  • Positive and enthusiastic with the ability to act through reasoned decision making
  • Ability to work productively with initiative and drive under tight deadlines and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to get things done and make things happen to achieve the aims of production and corporate goals
  • Possess strong computer skills and competency in basic MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Experience using Video Conferencing for Screen-Share Events
