Locker Room Manager-Men's Locker Room

JOB SUMMARY

In this position the Locker Room Manager is to manage the locker room according to the directive assigned by the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Follow yearly budget guidelines and monitor for proper allocation of supplies and resources. Train, motivate and lead locker room personnel. Monitor and report all relevant activities in the locker rooms. This role is critical to maintaining the luxury standard and reputation of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa while upholding the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Keep General Manager and Assistant General Manager informed of all relevant activities inside the locker room
  • Monitor the locker room for any potential safety hazard and security related activities
  • Ensure members complete satisfaction, promptly resolve any compliant and immediately address any issue that might arise inside the locker room
  • Ensure that all locker rooms are clean and supplied with all the necessary amenities
  • Prepare annual budget and ensure that all department expenses are carefully monitored
  • Purchase, keep track, distribute supplies and constantly check proper level of inventory
  • Report monthly supply inventory to Accounting Department and AGM
  • Run a monthly locker inventory to ensure availability and proper member’s dues charges
  • Prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Ensure employee compliance with all locker room manual standards 
  • Manage schedule and personnel issues such as coaching, counseling and delivery of a corrective action
  • Weekly meeting with men and women supervisors to address current issues and plan for upcoming events
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

  • Bachelor's or relevant experience in a managerial role complemented with a strong customer service-oriented background.
  • The ideal candidate must be computer literate, able to multitask and organized.
  • Must be willing to dedicate an extended amount of time to address members’ complaints, concerns and able to follow up until the issue is resolved.
  • He or she must have exceptional leadership skills, be very punctual and detail oriented

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to meet the following minimum physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift:

  • Physical Stamina: Frequent standing, walking, climbing of ladders and stairs, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting and carrying various objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work safely and effectively in outdoor temperatures. Summer temperatures outside can get above 95 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 months of year. For 2 months of year, low temperatures can get below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Must be able to swim
  • Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.
  • Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
  • Literacy: Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.
  • Chemicals/Agents: Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements.
