Primary Objective:Â Under the direction of the building principal, assist certified staff in supporting students in their social-emotional needs; monitor and report student progress.
Essential Functions:
- Assist teachers with instruction and engagement of individual and small groups of students in the classroom
- Assist counselors in their support of students
- Assist with building supervision including but not limited to hallway, lunch, and recess
- Work with district staff to assess, determine the function of, and improve student behavior
- Engages in ongoing assessment and quality improvement strategies to assist in the implementation of ongoing behavioral and social-emotional integration strategies
- Work with teachers to assess, determine the function of, and improve student behavior
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school principalÂ
Education: Degree, coursework, and/or certification in counseling, social work, behavioral studies, or school-based behavioral therapy preferred.
Qualifications:Â
- Prior experience in supporting the social-emotional needs of children
- Experience in providing behavioral related services
- Three years of successful experience working with students with behavioral regulation
- Successful criminal background check
Hours of Employment:Â Eight (8) hoursÂ
