Position Summary

The role of the Structural Heart Clinic Registered Nurse reports to the to the Clinic Manager in coordination with the Clinic Providers. This position is responsible for providing quality patient care in accordance with the TAVR, Mitraclip, and Watchman programs. This position is responsible for coordinating and the application of research studies and projects.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the referral, screening, testing requirements, consultation appointments and hospital-based procedures for patients. 
  • Facilitate the progression of procedures for patients and assist with preparing the patient and family by providing necessary education.
  • Provide follow-up care per pre-determined clinic intervals, documents patient status and communicates ongoing patient condition to physicians during follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary cardiovascular health care team in planning, implementing and evaluation of ongoing care programs and education for the patients, families, care givers and community.
  • Triage calls per established provider protocols for all patients, partnering directly with the provider and document details in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide documentation for each patient, including patient vital signs, update EMR, update medication list, document symptoms.
  • Serve as a liaison for patients from diagnosis, treatment, and recovery period.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Registered Nurse license, required. CPR, required. Valid drivers license and auto insurance, required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years with 2 years cardiology experience, required. Previous experience with TAVR patients, TAVR program, and knowledge of cardiac rhythms preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will spend 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
