Position Summary

The role of the Admitting Supervisor reports to the Admissions Manager. This position is responsible for supervision and training of staff. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate admission of patients for services.

 

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training materials and oversee training of staff within the department
  • Maintain a department that functions efficiently and professionally
  • Ensure admitting staff perform upfront collection duties accurately and meet established goals
  • Review QA reports daily and monitor for errors to ensure effective training is achieved
  • Ensure that department wide QA reports maintain an accuracy of 95% or higher
  • Assist leadership with development of policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensure and Certifications: N/A
  • Experience: Minimum 1 years’ experience in a previous supervisory, management, or leadership role, required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital admitting setting, required.  Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT, and ICD10 coding, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and n will spend 20% of work time standing and/or walking short frequent distances with occasional lifting, bending, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 lbs. This position may be exposed to communicable disease and body fluids.
