Position Summary

The role of the Electrophysiology Clinic Registered Nurse reports to the Electrophysiology Clinic Manager in partnership with the Clinic Physician. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting physicians with procedures, and assisting with front office duties, as needed.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Collect and input patient vitals, medical history, and any patient medical information into the EMR system.
  • Provide education related to pre- and post-procedures and assist with cardiac implantable device needs, as necessary.
  • Assist patient with scheduling all necessary appointments, including schedule surgeries and various diagnostic tests and provide scheduled date to the patient.
  • Ensure patient has applicable education and literature.
  • Triage calls per established provider protocols for all EP patients, partnering directly with the EP physicians or cardiologists, and document details in electronic medical record.
  • Prepare patient for various types of procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff, providers, and clinic leaders regarding operational issues, patient care concerns, and policy and procedure issues and staffing on an ongoing basis.
  • Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax, or phone as authorized and appropriate.
  • Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician.
  • Serve as patient liaison and advocate, providing assistance and support for current and ongoing patient care needs, as necessary.

 

Qualification

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Registered Nurse license, CPR, ACLS and Dysrhythmia required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a cardiac setting, preferred.

 

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
