Position Summary

The role of the Cardiovascular Clinic - Phone Triage Registered Nurse reports to the Clinic Nurse Manager in partnership with the Clinic Providers. This position is responsible for providing indirect patient care and effectively collaborating with clinic nurses to complete nursing administrative tasks.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax, or phone as authorized and appropriate.
  • Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the provider.
  • Serve as patient liaison and advocate, provide assistance and support for current and ongoing patient care needs.
  • Triage calls per established provider protocols for all patients, partnering directly with the provider and document details in the electronic medical record.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff, providers, and clinic leaders regarding operational issues, patient care concerns, and policy and procedure issues and staffing on an ongoing basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualification

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications:  Registered nurse license and CPR, required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinic setting, preferred.

 

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will spend 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
