Education & Experience:
- Must have completed a two-year program in Physical or Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited college or university.
- Must have as a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in a therapist assistant capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility.
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practice

Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
1. Must possess a valid and current license in this state
2. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
3. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
4. Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and public
5. Knowledge of therapy procedures
6. Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
7. Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the therapy services
8. Maintaining the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintaining the appearance of therapy areas
9. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level, they are currently functioning
10. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
