Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Life Enrichment Coordinator plays a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational, social, educational, and wellness-based programs. This individual fosters a vibrant and inclusive environment that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being for all residents.

 

*Must be able to drive our passenger van

 

Schedule:

Week 1 (Weekend ON – Working Saturday, Off Friday)

Sun: Off |Mon: 2–10 PM (8 hrs) | Tue: 9–5 (8 hrs) | Wed: 9–5 (8 hrs) | Thu: 2–10 PM (8 hrs) | Fri: Off | Sat: 9–5 (8 hrs)


Week 2

(Weekend OFF – Working Sunday, Off Saturday & Monday)
Sun: 9–5 (8 hrs) | Mon: Off | Tue: 9–5 (8 hrs) | Wed: 9–5 (8 hrs) | Thu: 2–10 PM (8 hrs) | Fri: 9–5 (8 hrs) | Sat: Off

 

 

JOB DUTIES:

1. Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs based on the interests and needs of residents.

2. Lead group and one-on-one activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, educational sessions, and outings.

3. Encourage resident participation and provide support to ensure inclusivity for individuals with varying levels of ability.

4. Support special events and holiday celebrations, including setup, takedown, and coordination with other departments.

5. Assist with maintaining the monthly activity calendar and distributing it to residents and staff.

6. Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation in programs.

7. Interview and build meaningful relationships with residents to understand their preferences and ensure activities are person-centered.

8. Coordinate and supervise off-site activities and outings, including driving the company vehicle to transport residents safely.

9. Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident.

10. Ensure all safety and infection control protocols are followed during activities.

11. Support volunteers or family members participating in programs when needed.

12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Life Enrichment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and to use hands to file and type often. Occasionally the employee will be required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close viewing of computer screen. Excellent verbal communication skills and excellent vision and hearing required. Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 25 pounds or more occasionally

 

Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience working in a senior living or healthcare setting (preferred).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate degree in music therapy, art therapy, or recreational therapy (preferred).

Licenses & Certifications: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license (required).

Other: Must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.

Read, write and speak the English language.
