Description

The Global Missions role serves as both a strategic and spiritual leader who equips and mobilizes Christ’s Church for global missions. This individual partners closely with the Engagement Pastor to ensure the entire church community has accessible pathways into meaningful, mission-driven living. The role blends administrative skill with pastoral sensitivity to inspire and organize teams for impactful gospel engagement, all while modeling the values of disciple-making.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Be a Disciple Maker: Foster a disciple-making culture by personally modeling disciple-making values and behaviors.
  • Align with Strategic Direction: Execute the primary direction and priorities as provided by the Engagement Pastor.
  • Cultivate Connections: Foster meaningful relationships by connecting individuals to ministry opportunities that align with their spiritual gifts and passions, guiding them toward deeper discipleship.
  • Collaborate with Pastors and Staff: Work to create sustainable volunteer structures essential for growth and integrate global missions into church-wide discipleship.
  • Empower Servant Leadership: Equip volunteers to serve with purpose and excellence, fostering a community rooted in service and discipleship.
  • Recruit and Disciple Leaders: Provide training for ministry leaders necessary to grow volunteer engagement.
  • Manage relationships: Cultivate and manage relationships with global mission partners.

PRIORITIES

  • Leadership & Spiritual Development: Provide spiritual encouragement and pastoral support to volunteers, teams, and partners. Mentor and disciple leaders in their personal calling and ministry competency. Participate in and lead mission trips, outreach events, and prayer efforts. Help embed outreach within the broader discipleship culture of the church.
  • Missional Engagement & Strategy: Shape and implement strategies for global, national, and mission engagement. Identify new outreach opportunities that align with the church's vision. Create exposure, training, and service experiences that lead to hands-on engagement. Ensure outreach is compelling, visible, and easy to access for all congregants
  • Partnership Development: Build strong relationships with global partners and missionaries. Oversee communication, collaboration, and care for global partnerships. Support and coordinate global mission trips and cross-cultural experiences. Promote global awareness and participation among the congregation.
  • Volunteer Mobilization: Recruit, equip, and care for volunteers. Develop and support leadership teams for key outreach initiatives. Ensure best practices in onboarding, training, and deployment of volunteers.
  • Proactively engage in All-Staff activities: Participate in required staff gatherings and provide team support.

PROCESS & SYSTEMS:

  • Operations & Project Management: Lead and manage logistics for outreach events and projects. Maintain systems for volunteer tracking, communications, and participation. Report ministry impact using data dashboards, stories, and analytics. Oversee scheduling, space reservations, and operational details.
  • Utilize Ministry Systems: Manage the Ministry System to effectively track, develop, and nurture volunteers, ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and vision. Utilize Rock to document and track the spiritual journey and relationships associated with individuals.
  • Observe Guidelines: Follow all established volunteer development best practices and guidelines.
  • Evaluate and Improve Ministry Impact: Regularly assess global missions’ impact for effectiveness and opportunities for growth.
  • Administration: Utilize Paycom, Rock, and the Office 365 suite of products, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.
  • Provide Metrics and Reporting: Complete all required dashboard reporting in a timely fashion.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS 

  • Practice a strict policy of confidentiality when dealing with church member information.
  • Office environment with occasional remote support and off-site meetings with volunteers.
  • May require physical activity such as lifting and transporting items up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work may be required to support projects and events.
  • Occasional travel to other locations or event venues may be required.
