Job Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in supporting daily HR operations, serving as a reliable resource for employees and management alike. This position is responsible for assisting with recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations, while ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the full-cycle recruitment process including posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer letters

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and system setup

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in both digital and physical formats

  • Support benefits enrollment and administration, and serve as a point of contact for employee questions

  • Help ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws

  • Assist with employee relations by documenting issues, gathering facts, and escalating as needed

  • Maintain and update HRIS systems with personnel changes, time-off requests, and employee information

  • Monitor and track employee training and development activities

  • Help with processing employee changes such as promotions, terminations, and status changes

  • Generate reports and support audits related to HR data, benefits, or compliance

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent HR work experience)

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR support role, preferably as an HR Assistant, Coordinator, or Generalist

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Paycom, ADP, Cloud HR, or similar platforms

  • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting multi-location or hourly/field-based workforces

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus

  • Familiarity with recruiting and onboarding in the construction or real estate industry
