Position Description

The role of the HERBICIDE LABORER is to provide support and assistance to the crew leader(s) in day-to-day vegetation management operations covering projects throughout the state of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Herbicide applicator license for CT, MA, VT and NH.
• Keeping the work area clear of debris, cleaning up limbs and branches as needed.
• Raking the area clear to maintain the safety zone.
• Lining up branches and piling appropriately for loading into the chipper.
• Keeping tools in the staging area and safe zone.
• Assuring that all lines are kept clear at all times.
• Being attentive to the crew leader’s cues throughout the job and maintaining awareness of potential hazards.
• Safely driving company vehicles to / from job sites.
• Maintaining equipment such as keeping chainsaws sharpened, sprayers cleaned and operational.
• Operating heavy equipment such as a skid steer.
• Tying basic knots and operating rigging equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements

• OSHA 10 or Greater Certified
• Valid Driver's License 
• Vehicle required for transportation to job sites
• CT, MA, VT and NH Herbicide Licenses
• Chainsaw experienced
• Must be out of a laborers hall (LiUNA)
