Job Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt

Pay: Hourly, Biweekly

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with a half-hour lunch or 5 PM with an hour lunch. This position requires 40+ hours a week depending on workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates the development team, assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. This includes hiring, conducting performance evaluations, resolving conflicts and assisting the team as needed.
• Oversee any projects within the software development team which includes defining project scopes and goals, creating timelines, reviewing budgets, and tracking progress.
• Drives the strategic direction of software architecture, making high-level decisions on technologies, methodologies, and processes to ensure that team’s success.
• Guide the technical decisions, manage and implement the best practices and coding guidelines. Ensure high standards for code quality, system architecture and security.
• Work closely with other areas of the company and serve as the liaison between the development team and other departments to prioritize projects/tasks for the software development team and plan work schedules accordingly
• Leads by example, providing hands on support when needed and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the team
• Develops and implements training and development plans for team members ensuring that the team stays current with the latest technologies and best practices
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be able to work onsite in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on any given day
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent on the job experience and 2+ years of management experience
• Knowledge of Scrum or Agile methodologies
• Experience developing and maintaining functions within cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure & AWS
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalize ideas
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• Strong understanding of proper software design and architecture
• 2 + years of experience managing a team and leading projects
• 5+ years of experience doing software development in a professional setting
• 2+ years of experience with cloud computing systems and various backend development languages (specifically Javascript) in a professional setting
