Role Overview:
The Senior Sales Professional-Women’s Designer at Dover Street New York is responsible for driving sales and fostering long-term relationships with clientele while growing the women’s designer product category. They serve as a key resource for clients, ensuring a high level of service and assisting with all personal needs throughout the store. They will play a crucial role in building community and establishing personal connections that drive customer loyalty and sales volume.

The Senior Sales Professional is an in-house expert on all things women’s designer and provides valuable feedback and insights to the buying team and product knowledge to sales professionals with the mindset of growing the business. This person embodies the unique aesthetic of Dover Street Market while demonstrating a deep understanding of luxury fashion and a commitment to delivering unparalleled service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional client experience in-store and during interactions across all communication channels. 
  • Develop and grow a book of business with a minimum value of $1 million. 
  • Maintain a detailed and organized client database focused on womenswear, documenting preferences, purchase history, and engagement activities. 
  • Proactively manage and expand a portfolio of high-value womenswear clients, fostering personalized relationships and anticipating their needs. 
  • Stay updated on product and brand knowledge in women’s designer fashion, acting as the store expert in this category. 
  • Provide expert styling advice and comprehensive product knowledge specific to the womenswear collections, showcasing a deep understanding of designers, trends, and garment construction. 
  • Achieve personal sales and clientele goals while contributing to the store’s overall daily conversion rate. 
  • Consistently surpass women’s designer category sales targets. 
  • Strategize to enhance personal productivity through effective styling and successful outreach. 
  • Develop and implement outreach plans to identify and attract new clientele, utilizing networking and clienteling techniques. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Manager on initiatives aimed at driving womenswear sales, enhancing client experience, and cultivating a strong sense of community. 
  • Actively engage clients during in-store events and VIP activations, aiming to network, expand the client base, and drive engagement. 
  • Represent the brand with professionalism and a genuine appreciation for luxury retail and client service. 
  • Actively participate in operational responsibilities such as deliveries, opening and closing procedures, replenishment, and maintaining impeccable store presentation standards.

  • Expertise in the womenswear designer category with an established book of clients
  • Demonstrable and proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and achieving key performance indicators in a luxury retail environment
  • In-depth and current knowledge of luxury womenswear fashion trends and designers, including a strong knowledge of Comme des Garçons and its sub-brands’ womenswear offerings.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills and the capacity to manage multiple client relationships and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A true passion for customer service and networking

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrable experience in luxury retail sales.
  • Proven experience in building, nurturing, and managing a substantial client book of high-value clients, with documented success in driving sales through these relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate fashion knowledge and engage in meaningful conversations with clients
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business, which may include days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
