Reporting to the Chief Learning Officer, the Vice President of Education will lead the development and implementation of educational programming and content for audiences of all ages at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. This leadership role drives innovation in educational experiences and oversees the curation and delivery of engaging learning opportunities that advance scientific interest and inspire curiosity across diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
 Programming and Content Development

Lead the development of early learning programs and experiences for children ages 0-8 and guide the integration of play-based learning and hands-on exploration across all early childhood programming

Direct the creation and implementation of developmentally-appropriate content for guests of all ages for museum exhibitions, programs, and digital platforms

Design and oversee innovative family learning experiences that support child development and caregiver engagement

Develop curricular frameworks that align with learning standards and age-appropriate STEM education

Collaborate with museum exhibit and science experts (both internal and external) in the development and refinement of museum exhibitions and elements
Team Leadership & Management

Lead and mentor a team of education professionals, including content developers, program managers, and education specialists

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the education department

Manage departmental budget and resources effectively

Develop and implement professional development opportunities for education staff
Assessment & Evaluation

Design and implement comprehensive early learning evaluation frameworks

Track key developmental indicators across cognitive, social-emotional, and physical domains for programs serving children ages 0-8

Determine, measure, and analyze family engagement metrics

Assess program effectiveness through multiple lenses, such as student engagement and learning progression in hands-on activities, growth in exploratory and inquiry-based behaviors, and social interaction and collaborative learning patterns

Lead research partnerships with universities and early childhood experts to validate program impact

Develop data collection methods appropriate for children, such as observational assessments and developmental checklists

Create feedback loops between assessment findings and program development to ensure continuous improvement
