Essential Duties:

Provide general clerical and administrative support to Insurance Advocates and the Insurance Coordinator. This support includes data entry, phone calls, letters, incoming and outgoing mail handling, and documentation of contact with clients, case managers, and vendors.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the client data systems.

Conduct database projects or status reports as assigned.

Advocate for clients under the guidance of the Administrative Supervisor.

Provide exemplary customer service to clients, case managers, insurance companies, the Department of Health’s Early Intervention Program (EIP), and community partners.

Perform all assigned duties of the position and other duties as needed.

Demonstrated skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Excel, Access, and Word.

Education and Experience:

Two or more years of Administrative Assistant experience.

Experience working in the medical coverage/insurance field preferred.

Experience working in client databases.

Basic knowledge of Washington state insurance laws and regulations, insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Open Enrollment dates and the WA Healthplanfinder.
Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required to support office or event needs. The role may also involve occasional attendance at events or activities that take place outside of normal office settings or standard business hours.
