Great opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join our Lewisville, TX facility! In this role you will manage all CI projects relating to waste reduction and process improvements, conduct data analysis, help standardize processes, and improve efficiencies and performance metrics. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering, or a related field and at least 2 years prior experience as a Process Engineer within printing, packaging or other manufacturing. This is an onsite role, working Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm. Additional hours and occasional weekends may be required based on business needs.
As the Process Engineer you are responsible for planning, facilitating, and managing projects relating to waste reduction and process improvements across the value chain. You will utilize standard processes, conduct data analysis, formal problem solving, coaching, and training of cross functional team members within our manufacturing operations. Guided by data, you will analyze and resolve a broad spectrum of opportunities relating to the production of high volume / high mix label and packaging products. Lastly, as the Process Engineer, you will serve as a knowledge expert in the standardization of core processes, to reduce variability and waste, while improving flow and product velocity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize existing printing processes to improve production efficiency and product quality, resulting in reduced waste, costs, and downtime.
- Identify commonality between product, process, and equipment types, to leverage best practices and deploy the highest level of standardization across company network.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer relations, pre-press, scheduling, production, quality, and maintenance, to implement process improvements.
- Use ERP, shop floor data collections, and visual management tools to facilitate formal problem solving (root cause/corrective action) to address KPIs not meeting expected performance levels.
- Document operating parameters and equipment configurations to ensure repeatability.
- Monitor and investigate printing process performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including value stream / process mapping, standard operating procedures, and technical reports.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in printing technologies and materials to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present reports to the Director level (and above) on results of development efforts including sales and cost savings dollars generated.
- Support efforts to implement justifiable label technologies to support the strategic direction of the company.
- Ensure best practices for production are shared between the sites.
