Description

The Lead Production Assembler leads, directs, and ensures successful daily accomplishment of the assigned production team. The Lead Assembler is a working position, customarily as one of the production team members and as such has high output of personal production and leads by example with high energy and a good positive attitude. Request parts from materials groups to fulfill production schedule. Ensures assigned workstations have the required material. Assembly line setup, inventory control, with the assistance of Assembler III. 

•    Ensures assigned workstations are staffed appropriately to maximize production.
•    Ensures assigned workstations have the required material.
•    Reports quality issues to Shift Supervisor and offers suggestions for quality improvement.
•    Ensures all equipment in the assigned area is operating correctly.
•    Ensure all team members use proper PPE.
•    Practice good safety actions and observe team members to ensure safety compliance.
•    Informs Shift Supervisor as to team personnel performance.
•    Identifies process improvement opportunities.
•    Ensure assigned team members are gainfully employed during material wait periods to include advising Shift Supervisor for reassignment of team personnel.

Required:

•    Must be a US Citizen
•    Must have a High School diploma or GED
•    Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Assembler or equivalent experience

•    Knowledge of required functions of the following core production area, Seat Assembly
•    Knowledge of required equipment in the following core production area, Seats Assembly

  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP System Mandatory

•    Ability to understand verbal/written instructions and provide feedback
•    Leadership skills and a positive attitude
•    Ability to train others
•    Process improvement skills
•    Problem solving skills
•    Workflow knowledge
•    Intermediate computer skills and the ability to operate computer terminals and general software applications
•    Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints desired
•    Able and willing to lift 50 pounds frequently from the floor to tabletops, throughout the work shift
•    Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp
•    Ability to stand/sit for sustained periods of time
•    Organizational skills
•    Basic knowledge of 5S principles
•    Willingness to work flexible hours such as overtime.
•    The position may be required to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays, based on the needs of the organization.
